Integrated security system — this is a set of technical means combined into a single hardware and software security complex with the aim of increasing the efficiency of perimeter security and the reliability of the system through mutual complementarity and redundancy of technical means.

Components of an integrated security system:
  • perimeter security system based on the FlexZone processing unit;
  • elements of video surveillance equipment based on equipment from leading manufacturers (Hikvision, Bosch, Dahua, other);
  • software "V&P Monitoring".

Perimeter security equipment
Perimeter security equipment based on the FlexZone processing unit is the main line of security for extended sections (up to ten segments in one subnet). One perimeter segment is a section of the protective fence (up to 600 m), on which two 300-meter KS-FZ sensor cable arms are laid and the FlexZone processing unit (PU) is mounted. The PU receives and processes signals coming from the sensor cable and two additional security loops (integrated into the unit), interacts with other PUs and transmits event data to the security post.

Processing Unit (PU) FlexZone (150-600 meters)
Allows:
  • detect intrusion points with an accuracy of up to +/- 3 m at a distance of up to 300 m in both directions from the processing unit (600 m in total);
  • simultaneously detect multiple intrusions within 15m of each other;
  • flexibly assign up to 60 security sections of arbitrary length (for every 600 m) within each FlexZone PU, set individual sensitivity thresholds for each of these sections, which is important when the "ringing" of the fence web decreases/increases or the configuration of the protective fence web changes (gates, wickets, spacer structures, transition from mesh to concrete fencing, etc.);
  • transmit data and power from unit to unit via a sensor cable in a chain of up to three PU (~1800 meters); in this configuration, there is no need to lay additional power and data transmission cables;
  • reduce the likelihood of false alarms due to weather conditions by:
    • an algorithm for automatic compensation in a separate BO, operating in a network of several PU, of parasitic noise arising from simultaneous atmospheric effects (rain, hail) on the fence;
    • application of different settings templates for warm and cold periods of the year;
  • operate for a long time without a regular power supply (up to 24 hours on a 7A/h battery, due to the low power consumption of the PU - 2.5 W in network mode);
  • organize power supply in a wide range from power sources (12 - 48 VDC), including alternative ones (solar panels, wind generators, etc.).
  • implement integration with existing alarm systems (PKP A-16, Signal, etc.) using a software-configurable output relay (output of the status of security loops "Norm", "Alarm", "Technical condition", tamper contact PU, etc.);
  • use existing copper cable lines to transmit data and power;
  • calibrate the PU remotely via the transmission network (transmission medium - optics/copper);
  • quickly restore the functionality of the sensor cable by unskilled personnel (in case of a break, the KS-FZ cable cores are connected under the screw of the block/coupling).
Within the concept of a comprehensive security system, FlexZone acts as the main line of defense for extended areas. It transmits information about the state of virtual zones (normal, alarm) of the processing unit and its technical condition to the "V&P Monitoring" software. The KS-FZ sensor cable is mounted on various types of fencing: Rabitz-type mesh fencing, 3D welded mesh, concrete fencing, etc. With a mesh fencing height of up to 2.5 m, installation is carried out in one pass. FlexZone equipment operation not affected by electromagnetic interference.

In case of duplication of alarm loop signals on control and monitoring devices (A16-512 PKP, Signal, etc.), additional redundancy is possible on the "dry contact" for receiving alarms from perimeter equipment operating in emergency mode or under conditions of limited operation of equipment using network protocols. It is optimal to use PU together with the PKP as part of a security system with copper communication cables, since in this case no active switching equipment is required. In such a configuration, the PKP device can monitor additional loops:
  • opening of gates and wickets, as well as approaches to them (IR, SMC sensors);
  • premises (IR sensors);
  • opening of outdoor switchboards (SMC sensors);
  • FlexZone PU status (alarm, tamper, battery status, power supply ...);
  • video surveillance system status ("malfunction relay"), as well as provide light and sound notification of alarms to the duty officer.
Note: The FlexZone PU is highly reliable, stable, easy to install and has low operating costs. Over 18 years of operation of various perimeter security systems based on FlexZone, not a single unit has failed.

Elements of video surveillance equipment
Video surveillance equipment is part of a comprehensive security system. Allows you to display and save video data, use the video analytics capabilities of video cameras of an existing and/or newly created system. The versatility of the "V&P Monitoring software allows you to use equipment from different manufacturers (Hikvision, Bosch, Dahua, др.).

Software "V&P Monitoring"
The V&P Monitoring software (copyrighted object, registered in the National Intellectual Property Center under No. 1482-KP) is an in-house development of TC Technotronic Ltd. It was developed for use in the interests of border service agencies operating at checkpoints. It integrates the operation of the perimeter security system and video surveillance. As needed, this software adapts to the customer's requirements and is supplemented with new components.
The V&P Monitoring software allows:
  • receive alarm signals from video cameras, FlexZone perimeter processing units and various sensors (security loop status, video analytics signals, etc.);
  • carry out visual control when outputting alarms to monitors, including the output/display of "live" and archived video of alarm events;

  • receive data on events from equipment and analytics from different manufacturers (Bosch, Hikvision, Dahua, ISS, Senstar, Rovalent, Forteza, etc.), and also manage this equipment in accordance with specified algorithms;
  • generate and display various reactions to an alarm event: controls camera rotation, implements intelligent tracking of the object, sound notification, display of alarms on the map, output of event-related recommendations (for example, an action plan);
  • monitor system components: track the status of components and, if there are any faults, generate alarm signals;
  • perform event documentation.
Integrated security systems using elements of perimeter security and video surveillance equipment from leading manufacturers, combined through the V&P Monitoring software into a single integrated security system, have been successfully used for many years at many checkpoints across the State Border of the Republic of Belarus.
